What is Gel Blasting?
- Gel blasting is a recreational activity similar to paintball or airsoft, where players use gel blasters that shoot soft, water-filled gel beads (often called gel balls or orbeez). It’s a fun, safe, and environmentally friendly sport enjoyed by people of all ages.
- All players are placed on 2 teams and run through our field playing a range of different gamemodes such as capture the flag, team death match, domination and many more!
How are GelCity Sessions Structured?
Gel City sessions are structured to balance action, strategy, and safety, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable time for all participants. Our sessions are designed to provide a thrilling and structured gel blasting experience for players of all skill levels. Here’s how they typically run:
- Check in and safety briefing
Players arrive and check in before the session starts. A detailed safety briefing follows, covering rules, proper use of equipment, and gameplay guidelines. Safety gear is distributed, and staff ensure all players are prepared.
- Equipment and set up!
Players are provided with any rental gear they purchased with their ticket, including gel blasters, safety masks and ammunition (gels). Staff are on hand to assist with any setup or adjustments and will explain how to correctly handle, fire, reload, change form safety to automatic/semi-automatic etc. If you have any questions or concerns, now would be the best time to address them to our field staff.
- Gamemodes and game/round duration
Each weekly session runs for 3 hours and features 2 rounds of 3 unique game modes. When one round of a gamemode is finished, the teams will then swap sides and play a 2nd round. Each round plays out for roughly 15 minutes, and 15-20 minute breaks are held in between and after each game mode to ensure all players are staying hydrated and have a chance to catch their breaths or even sit down and have a nice meal at our on-site Cafe.
- Finishing up and ending your session
At the end of the session, players return their equipment, pack up and are then able to go home and rest up. All players are encouraged to rest and hydrate before returning for another session!
